Obsolete Currency PROOF 1850's Pittston, PA- Pittston Bank $5 18 PMG Unc. 62
PMG Uncirculated 62, Tape Repair, Certification # 5014315-004. The bank was chartered in 1857 and remained in business until it became the Pittston National Bank in 1865. The note features a vignette titled. Depicts a semi-nude female floating high above a distant town far below and another of a Native American warrior. It is printed on India paper with the usual small POCs in the signature lines.
PMG notes a tape repair of a short tear that radiates out from the rightmost POC to the edge by 18__. Only thirty examples of this variety appeared in the 1990 ABNCo Archives sale.
